Not that we have any urge to escape from the garden – this lockdown business is not causing any mental disturbance at all – but occasionally we like to check up on what the wild world is up to and so we take ourselves five minutes down the road to walk the trails in the arboretum.

Today temperatures were hovering around the 30C mark but mosquitoes were not really in evidence, maybe the odd one but that’s all. Apart from three groups of walkers with dogs all going the wrong way along the trail (supposed to be one direction only because of Covid-19 restrictions) we pretty well had the forest to ourselves. Very nice and peaceful and plenty of shade.

There is a gallery of photographs below and a short video of a white-tailed deer that we happened upon. It was aware of our presence but not especially worried as you can see .

Life is really rather good at the moment.
