We are surrounded by slick vistas of polished ice over deep snow … and will be for weeks to come. Somewhere, however, spring is already here and so we have something to look forward to. This picture was taken in a Suffolk nature reserve about four or five years ago towards the end of April. The trees are part of a managed coppice and the flowers carpeting the ground are not snowdrops, but are white anemones.
If ever you go that way, these trees and flowers are here: http://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/bradfieldwoods
We have some primulas flowering in the gardens
