This weekend was the start of the season’s “Feederwatch” which will occupy us mightily through until the start of April.  The usual suspects appeared and were duly recorded but amongst them were a pair of Pine Siskins.  these are a seasonally irruptive species that either arrive in number or not at all – and last year we saw none of them.  Nice to welcome them back … now we need the rest of the winter finches, Crossbills, House Fiunches and Redpolls have beeb at the arboretum in the last week.  Fingers crossed.
