It’s early in the year but Redpolls have been the bogey bird of January thus far … neighbours and friends have been reporting flocks everywhere – up the road, down the road, partout, partout but never there when we were however fast we got on the trail.

The, suddenly this morning as I was brewing the coffee the garden was full of them – including 5 or 6 Hoarys alongside the Commons. Excellent bigby birding.
