J was lucky this morning to see, and to see well, a Black-throated Blue Warbler in the garden perched in the dogwood.  This is a first record in Quebec of this species this year and although it matches the arrival dates of 1992 and 2009 it is earlier than usual if not a record.

Later in the day she saw a pair of confused Mallards on our small, and not duck-suitable pond.  Other than that there are lots of Juncoes about stil, we have Song Sparrows and the usual Red-wings, Grackles, Cardinals, Dopes, Uncle Tom Cobley and all.
