Still some wonderful colour
Spent a couple of hours in the arboretum this morning, just poking around on the trails.
I had deliberately not taken a camera with me as to be honest I expected the best of the colour would now be behind us and I wanted to concentrate on the birds. Well, I was quite wrong. We have just had a very wet weekend that even included temporary snow mixed with the rain and ice pellets and the rest of the week is also going to be wet and “gloomy” but today was dry with that subdued and diffuse light that sometimes brings out the best in scenes and interesting clouds to act as a backdrop. I couldn’t not take just a few photographs once we were on the trail though and fortunately I had my trusty iPhone in my pocket. On the principle that the best camera is the one you have with you I took a few views on the basis of nothing ventured, nothing gained but not really expecting great things to result. I have to say, I was more than pleasantly surprised at the quality of the images I managed to collect … maybe it’s now time to upgrade from iPhone 6 to whatever the latest and best model is; on the other hand that’s maybe >$1200 and the present phone does pretty well.
So – please enjoy these scenes from a late autumn walk in a Quebec forest.
