The Bee Yard 1994

Sorting through some old photographs in of those unopened boxes that all basements contain, I found this picture taken at about this date some 25 years ago (1994) when we had a small bee yard in our garden that supplied ourselves and many friends with excellent honey for the breakfast toast.

Milkweed seed pods

The ripened milkweed seed pods split and start distributing seeds late in the fall but they then dry and stand through the winter offering some seeds for birds and holding on to a few more for later distribution when the winds send them, on their way. Interesting shapes.
