Most of the plants in the garden have shot up this summer, but especially this group growing in the mead where we no longer mow.
The yellow ones are Rudbeckia laciniata, and the purple ones are New England Aster while the “model provided for scale” is standing right next to the asters with her nose in a Rudbeckia flower and not several feet beyond as you might assume.
The Rudbeckia are supposed to achieve “between 4 and very occasionally 7 feet tall” according to the text books … these are nearer 8.
We are impressed.
Just what i need to deter nosey and less than pleasant neighbours. Superb plants!
