It’s Hippeastrum time of year again … the bulbs are commonly sold as Amaryllis, but that is a hangover from days of botanical confusion (Yes, taxonomy matters and I’m a nerd – but I can live with it). Either way, this year’s first-to-flower is just a stunning colour.
