Boiling hot today – 32degC with a humidex of >40degC so only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun … but we do, albeit with frequent excuses to come indoors for five minutes air-conditioned sanity.
The dogwood “wall” needed some trimming back so that I could squeeze behind it and remove the self-set maple tree-lets that always try to escape our notice round there – and of course the mosquitoes found me very easily. The mid-summer flowers are glowing all over and were in need of photographing. Some of Jean’s lilies are especially fine with her dahlias coming along after them.
