A Hermit Thrush briefly showed this morning and posed nicely for these photographs as he went about his business looking for food on the rough grass.
I managed to grab a short video as well – there were ten seconds of camera shake in the middle where the camera lens caught the glass of the window- I have edited this out, hence the (almost imperceptible) jump in continuity. You also get to watch the bird with Vivaldi playing – happened by on the hifi as the bird appeared.
In the video notice especially the leg trembling that is part of his/her hunting technique and is used by the bird to induce insects to move in order to reveal their location.. Very striking.
Great pics of the HETH.
