When this blog started three or four years ago it set off with a list of the species of birds we had seen in our garden or flying over it (we do not count birds seen in neighbors gardens from ours though – we are reasonably purist).  At the time it stood at 88 species and obviously as you get a longer list the addition of new species becomes harder … nevertheless this evening we saw a Winter Wren briefly alight on the deck – although heard last year this was the first visual tick and so we thought it time to update our list for the world.  it now stands at 108 species, as listed below.  Pretty good for suburbia,
