Doing Feederwatch today while struggling to create BPQ tax receipts from a lengthy database and mail merge letter etc etc we were visited by a Pileated Woodpecker which is always a huge treat … and then his friend arrived so we have a male and a female and it’s approachng “that time of year” for birds.  Fingers crossed.  As usual they were whacking seven bells out of the moribund Catalpa tree but then one moved briefly to the deck and then snacked on the dfeeders.
