Buster was a very good cat …
Buster finally ran out of time today and we had to make the difficult decision that the quality of his life mattered more than quantity …
This is the first time for about 50 years that we have not had a cat in the house. We think that Buster was number thirteen. Although they were all great characters in their own ways this guy had character in spades. He had been my mother’s cat and we brought him over to Canada from England in 2012 when it was clear he was our principle inheritance … none better.
Buster was emphatically not a party animal. He had had more than enough noise and uncertainty in his life by the time he came here (old peoples’ TVs tend to be very loud) and he made it clear right from the beginning that he “did not like noise – at all”. For that reason alone he settled in with us very comfortably. Always a clown, and forever chattering and talking to us and the squirrels outside the window, he kept us endlessly amused.
Much missed, though his shade is still pottering around the house somewhere.
Oh, Buster!Him and Her , and of course Me, are sad to read of your passing. Him, a lifetime lover of cats, feels quite mournful, and sends his warmest regards to your servants of many years.
