We are now just past the autumnal equinox and despite the birght sunshine, the wind id from the north and nights are colder – even a touch of frost a couple of days ago. The birdlife is notably less populous and flights of south-bound geese are appearing in the skies.
This busy Nuthatch popped into the garden with a friend today as we were lunching.
And, one of the more visually delightful yet for some reason generally disliked, birds – a shiny Grackle. he’s not here for any reason of birding note, just that I think he is especially handsome in the sunlight.
