This magnificent bird is a Northern Pintail male and as the ice on the river starts to open up in the next couple of weeks (we hope) there will be a small number of them spending a short moment in the vicinity. I have to confess that this is a wild Pintail, but a resident at the nearby EcoMuseum who is there, like all the other animals they have; because he is unable to fend for himself in the wild. Such a beautiful bird though, I love the muted colours and the clear definition between feather groups. Spring, real spring as opposed to a date on the calendar, is coming.
