Sometimes, remarkable things happen.  This evening, around about supper time (which was late for a very good reason – too late, we had an appointment to keep) birds fell out of the sky into our garden and we became somewhat distracted.  Almost all of them taking advantage of the attractions of the small header pool that feeds out waterfall.

  • Baltimore Orioles  (at least 4)
  • Northern Flicker
  • American Robins
  • Red-eyed Vireo (many, many)
  • Magnolia Warblers (several)
  • Incognito Warblers (flitting in the shadows – never did get a good look for an ID)
  • Downy Woodpecker
  • BC Chickadees (of course)

For some ten or fifteen minutes they were just coming from all corners, all at once.  Brilliant garden birding, the ultimate GreenBirding, at its best.  There are plenty of photos below so you can share the pleasure:

Then we had dinner – then it was too late for our meeting.  C’est la vie.
